Hiram A. Bingham,
Mr. Bingham founded Davenport Resources in 1995 after a 30-year career in technology, energy development, and private direct investments. After practicing law in the New York firm of Shearman & Sterling, Mr. Bingham held senior management positions in the fields of international telecommunications, energy and natural resources prior to 1977. He managed the original expansion of the global satellite system throughout Africa for Communications Satellite Corporation. From 1977 to 1995, he was President of Caithness Resources, Inc., a manager of private equity partnerships and developer of over 280 megawatts of renewable independent power, mineral properties and new technology businesses. During Mr. Bingham’s tenure, revenues grew from $1 million to over $100 million, while asset value increased from $6 million to $750 Million. He is a graduate of Yale University and of Columbia University Law School and is a Trustee of two educational foundations.
Douglas S. Perry,
President, Davenport Power & Managing Director
Mr. Perry has over 25 years of diverse domestic and international management and legal experience. Positions during his 20 years at Constellation Energy Group included President of Constellation Power Development and Vice President and General Counsel for Constellation Holdings, the holding company for various businesses including real estate, financial investments and power plant acquisition, development and operation. Mr. Perry launched, built and led an organization that successfully developed and acquired power projects in the United States and Latin America exceeding $2 billion of investment and 5,000 megawatts of capacity. Mr. Perry has worked with venture investors and with start-up companies and projects on technology verification and commercialization strategies and to improve business operations. He served as Special Counsel/Attorney with the SEC’s Divisions of Corporation Finance and Enforcement and holds an engineering degree and an MBA from Duke University and law degrees from Emory University and Georgetown University. Mr. Perry has served on a number of business and civic/education boards.
Hiram E. Bingham,
Mr. Bingham supervises portfolio companies and renewable energy project development. Since 1996, he has worked with numerous technology companies as a consultant and investor to develop business models and growth strategies and sits on several boards. His areas of concentration are consumer platforms and energy technologies. In renewable energy, Mr. Bingham has 10 years of experience with geothermal power project development, where he has marketed power and structured opportunities for project financing. He recently assisted the Department of Energy’s Geopowering the West program to position geothermal as the baseload renewable energy of choice. Previously, he marketed clean energy technology investments for Caithness Energy in New York. Mr. Bingham actively participates in the US and European social venture and renewable energy communities. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder and received an MBA from the University of Southern California. He is also a founding board member of the Triskeles Foundation, a manager of donor advised funds and a sponsor of youth mentoring programs.
